Interactive installation by Mina Büker and Martin Wöllenstein

The project started with the experiment, out “garbage” to make sense. Man but our hands, an art project with 420.000 To design pockets for vehicle papers made of imitation leather. These bags were declared as rubbish, as they were rejected due to problems during transportation.

Instead of sorting out the damage or reusing it, companies often produce new products, to deal with this situation. So what happens to the sorted items? And why do we continue to make unnecessary things in the midst of the climate crisis?

The installation invites visitors:inside to it, communicate demands about it, what we can have less of and what we need more of.

The project started by the attempt of meaning making out of “trash”. We were offered to create an art project with 420.000 car wallets made out of imitation leather. These wallets were declared trash as they were rejected due to incremental contamination during shipment. The phenomena of rejected products are common in mass production.

Instead of sorting or repurposing the damage; producing new ones is often the way how companies deal with the situation. So what happens to these purposeless objects? And why do we keep making unnecessary things in the midst of climate crises?

This installation invites you to share your claims about what can have less of and what we need more of.
