Sofia Talvik (SWE): Unmistakably Nordic in taste, Sofia Talvik somehow still adapts to American interpretations of her own original music, a North Sea siren, that mixes sparkle and melancholy. An experienced performer with nine full-length albums and numerous EPs under her belt, Singles and tours behind him. Grew up in Sweden, Their music has always had the special flavor of their Scandinavian heritage.
Talvik is primarily a live artist and has taken her music across Europe and beyond 48 US states worn, where she has delved deeply into the American sound and channeled it through her Nordic roots, to create a unique brand of Americana. Talvik releases all of her music on Makaki Music, a record label, which she founded at the beginning of her career, to maintain full control over your own recordings.
While her Swedish roots serve as the basis for her songwriting, She is often inspired by her many travels and experiences, particularly of the uniquely American archetype of wandering the endless highway. She lived like a musical nomad, moved from place to place, slowly building her audience, but steadily through their warm and personal appearances, to experience the USA in a way, like few people do. The human, that she met, opened their homes and hearts to her and some of them even made it into their songs.
Talvik has released nine albums and countless singles and EPs. She has performed at festivals such as Lollapalooza and SXSW. She opened for Maria McKee and David Duchovny and worked with former Suede guitarist Bernard Butler and Tobias Fröberg (Peter Björn and John) together, the 2008 produced their LP Jonestown. She has also released two albums in Swedish as part of the New Acoustic duo Hansan with German cellist David Floer.
