The Department of Architecture, City Economics at the University of Kassel and the theater collective andpartnersincrime jointly invite you to an assembly on the topic of vacancies in Kassel. If we just add up the large and publicly known vacant areas and houses in Kassel, let's get to about 100.000 m2 gross floor area, that are empty in Kassel; Vacancy always reminds us of this, that there are users:inside there was and could be.
What could be the next steps in the city?, to make vacancies usable?
In the assembly we want to create space for the many initiatives, that already exist: in order to provide a platform for exchange and to determine future needs and opportunities for further activity based on the status quo of vacancies.
