In empty city set andpartnersincrime the stories of those opposite the empty houses in Kassel, they don't (more) live in it. The human, the evicted, the homeless. About interviews with citizens of Kassel:within, who are acutely threatened by forced evictions and displacement, bring their experiences to the stage. For the piece has andpartnersincrime together with the film collective Freelance Underground Investigatively researched the connection between vacancies and homelessness.

In a series of filmic interviews, the artist collective approaches the personal stories of citizens of Kassel:within, who have either lost their apartment, because they were evicted due to economic hardship, who were threatened with such forced eviction at a certain point in their biography, or who have been living without a permanent address for a long time. On stage, the two investigative journalists Max and Nika shed light on the structural background of speculative vacancies and a “second wave” of gentrification, which is currently reaching the city of Kassel. During their research, they come across more and more explosive cases and dubious real estate strategies- and investment funds, but also public housing companies. That's not all, what the two find out on stage is fiction…
