Discussion event with Laila Abdul-Rahman (Ruhr-University Bochum), Green-White Aid Bremen and campaign for victims of racist police violence - KOP Bremen

The event will be broadcast live on the kukoon.de website.

After the murder of George Floyd, protests erupted in the United States. Black people also die in police custody in Germany. Their names are largely unknown: William Tonou-Mbobda, Hussam Fadl, Rooble Warsame, Oury Jalloh, Yaya Diabi, Amed A., Aamir Ageeb, Achidi John, Laya-Alama Condé, Mohamed Idrissi – The list goes on.

Together with Laila Abdul-Rahman from the research project Bodily Injury in Office at the Ruhr University Bochum, the Green-White Aid and the Campaign for Victims of Racist Police Violence (KOP-Bremen) we want to shed light on the issues of police violence and racist police violence. Does not police violence begin with the so-called “Reasonless control” or the illegal boiler? Why does she meet some people more often than others? How do the police deal with criticism?? And what distinguishes the experiences of violence of people with a migration background and people of color from people without a migration background or?. white persons?

An event of the Kulturkombinat Offene Neustandt (Cock) in cooperation with the Rosa Luxemburg Initiative – The Rosa Luxemburg Foundation in Bremen and Partnership for Democracy Bremen.
