Rhythmically and harmonically demanding, but still create accessible music, that is the creed of the 4 musicians of the 2021 founded band xlush. With yours 2023 On their debut album “panæ”, the quartet dedicated themselves to a concept, that invites the audience on an excursion, whose pull is characterized by a never-ending flow of varied sound events. No cut should interrupt the 3-part journey. The album's titles were put on tape in one-take recordings and recorded at the same time with a 360° camera. The resulting mood has an almost hypnotic effect, which is accompanied by the bonus track “cinctulus”, which draws even the most restless contemporaries into the world of theta brain waves, is still being confirmed.
Due to the exotic cast, which dispenses with a bass instrument in a classical perspective, The members are forced to constantly change musical roles and act as jumpers using electronic aids. There are moments like that, in which the violin lays out a carpet of fundamental sine sounds, on which the saxophone lets off steam with synthetic sounds with a dental drill attitude. Jan-Einar Groh (Drums) and Fabian Adams (Saxophon) enrich the multi-layered listening experience through the use of modular synthesizer systems, Simeon Hudlet (guitar) and Felix Klingner (Violine/Vocals) make use of conventional effects devices, to round off the songs with electro-acoustic facets.
xlush plays new compositions, which takes you to a transcendent level, take a musical journey. So come aboard the Progmetal spaceship and let's take off together. Escape your own orbit once, A colorful melange of melancholic sound spheres awaits you, dance-crazy folk elements and monstrous riffs, without losing sight of the overall dramaturgy.
Steppe (appears 2019 on the Dutch label Norwegianism Records) is an unlikely free jazz drone collaboration between Canadian guitarist Eric Quach (thisquietarmy) and the Belgian drummer Tom Malmendier, those of nomadic, multi-continental travel stories through cold weather, windy landscapes and warm, improbable encounters in the networked underground art scene.

Tom Malmendier is a self-taught, experimental Belgian free jazz drummer. Its unique, more improvised, Storytelling drumming style relies on the intrinsic sound of the drums – always prioritizing innovation and expression over precise technology. This style is constantly evolving, as he interacts with a large number of diverse and creative musicians, which he made on his way as part of the L’Oeil Collective – a productive collective of improvisational musicians based in Liège – meets. He is also in several bands and projects with musicians such as Farida Amadou (Cocaine Piss) & Phil Maggi (Ultraphallus) active. In the drone/noise scene he has worked with musicians like Suzuki Junzo, Aidan Baker, Dirk Serries and thisquietarmy worked together.
