About 100 people were last Saturday, the 5. November, followed the appeal of the Kassel solidarity group for the imprisoned anti-fascist Lina. The Kassel-born student has been sitting since 5. November 2020 in custody, because the federal prosecutor accuses her, to have been involved in the planning and implementation of actions against neo-Nazis.
Only on 8. September 2021 Finally, the trial against Lina and three other defendants before the Higher Regional Court in Dresden began. Since then, supporters of the accused have deliberately referred to the procedure as the “Antifa-Ost procedure”.. This should make it clear, that it's not just about Lina, although she is the only woman and so far the only prisoner in the public eye. In addition, investigations are still being carried out against other people in this complex, who have not yet been charged.
Since Lina's imprisonment, a group has also come together in Kassel to support the accused in the Antifa-Ost proceedings. This has already organized several trips, to visit the trial in Dresden, Information events and a demonstration in Kassel as well as fundraising for the court costs incurred.
In the first speech of the Kassel solidarity group, the course and current status of the negotiations in Dresden were discussed. To each of the so far 73 days of the trial, Lina was driven from the JVA Chemnitz to Dresden with a large police escort and her hands and feet tied. Apart from the accusation of forming a criminal organization according to Section 129, the taking of evidence on all individual offenses is almost complete, the speaker described. The Nazi witnesses questioned repeatedly got caught up in contradictions and exposed themselves, that there are close connections between investigative authorities and right-wing organizations.
A small exhibition on the fringes of the rally showed some public statements by the Leipzig Soli group as well as selected press articles about the small and large scandals of the course of the proceedings so far.
At the end, a greeting from Lina's mother was read out, who attended the rally in front of the JVA in Chemnitz that day. Nevertheless, she addressed the floor to those present in Kassel, thanked for the ongoing solidarity and brought greetings from her daughter:
"Thank you for 730 Days of solidarity and connectedness; be it in the courtroom, at the Soli-Bar or at rallies. Thank you for the many expressions of solidarity from all over, for encouraging and comforting words and for the numerous letters and postcards. And Lina also sends you a heartfelt and big thank you for all the small and big things, what you have done for her in the last two years."
Greetings from Chemnitz
The process is now, not least because of the introduction of a key witness, been extended for the fourth time and now until April 2023 terminated. However, it is unclear, whether further extensions are to be expected. For the Saturday after the verdict was announced, the supporters are already mobilizing to Leipzig for the nationwide "Day X" demonstration.
